Hmm... well, I want to know if anyone can explain the 'lay out' inside an endless loop cassette?... also, with some effort, do you believe it is possible to convert standard cassettes into endless loop cassettes?... That would be awesome. any suggestions on how?... Thanks.

definitely possible to convert regular cassettes to endless looping. i have been doing that now for my band Texas Chainsaw Mascara.
it is done exactly how the name sounds. you cut the tape and make a loop and put it back. it is more compliciated to actually do though than it sounds.
first you want a cassette with screws so you can easily open it and put it back together. second cut a small section of tape. just enough to run through and around the reels. splice that together using a small amount of tape...make sure its sturdy. also splice it on the underside so it isn't keeping contact from being made iwth the head.
one of the things i do that makes it easier is i put little bits of double sided tape on the reels so that it will progress the tape easier....this also slows down the tape play and record speed and sort of randomizes it as well as fucks up the tape for a great warble and weird stereo effects.
put the tape on the reels close the cassette and your done. pop it in a tape recorder and press play and it will never stop.
you will probably get about 3 seconds of looping this way. i've managed to get up to 12 by diverting the tape around posts and adding wheels and such into the casettte.
good luck. its delicate work.

thanks a ton! now I know it can be done for sure. I thought about putting a nail inside and then around it, putting a cylindrical piece of plastic... I estimated I could get 4-5 seconds from that. and yes, I know from trying to unsuccessfully make a tape looper, that working with/splicing tape is a pain in the ass!... perhaps, if i am very careful i can PERMANATLEY adhere the tape with gorilla glue haha... no way in hell will it come apart then!
