I figured I could produce sound simply by soldering a speaker to a tape player head but that didnt work. Will putting a jack on the end and playing it through a mic plug on a tape recorder make it procuce sound from tape?... I got the idea for this from the 'tape canvas' but so far I'm not having much luck in getting it to work... I also tried converting a tape player into a make-shift tape segment looper... it could be done but it's kind of a pain in the ass and the tape keeps coming off the wheels... That's another story though... any help would be appreciated!

try soldering longer wires between the head and the cassette deck. leave everything in tact but basically just extend the head so its somewhat mobile. i haven't done this but i've wanted to.

also have you tried taking out the eraserhead so you can record over and over and over?

hahha 'davidlynch max'...
No, I haven't yet... I will most likely do that with the bent tape recorder though... It still functions as a regular tape recorder but it's now sort of a useless thing for it seeing as how I can get cleaner recordings (of live performances and the like) with my new recorder which has a mic-in and produces better sound... Is it possible to just cover up the recorder head? It would spare a lot of pain-in-the-ass work to just put something that keeps it from erasing haha. umm... I am getting some endless-loop cassettes soon... I tried to make my own but I am too impatiant and it is too much of a pain in the ass haha... I tried about 6-7 times with one cassette before I gave up on making them. It will be reaaallly neat to record on endless loop cassettes without theerase head! I can't wait 'til they arrive so I can hear the results.
