It is possible to use circuit bend instruments in live music for a band.

I recorded a 4 minute mp3 of a Yamaha TYU-40 being circuit bent live. I managed to unlock some hidden beats....

i just had my first performance ever as a fully circuit bent solo project. I went by the name Karl Malone Slam Dunk Challenge 1998. but now i am Texas Chainsaw Mascara...the karl malone name is going to be adopted for an art opening. the performance was at a Cabaret and was shockingly a huge success. i used a toy megaphone, speak and read, toy guitar with joystick controller, and a Neopet.
i've used lots of circuit bent stuff in my band Unicorn Basement but this was a great beginning to just unleashing my full fury of homemade found object instruments. so in conclusion....
yes...............and?

i live in northfield, mn. a small two college town south of minneapolis by a half hour. i didn't tell anyone what i was going to do. i just said it would be a surprise. like i said i was really shocked by how well people liked it. i'm performing at one a couple of the local bars in the future. there are two venues here that will pretty much book all my bands. its a great community for supporting music. if you ever tour come here i set up huge house shows too.

hhaha awesome... I guess you know how it is then... The only place that MIGHT book me is the Flying Monkey Art Center... But they NEVER answer ANY of my e-mails... They are having some experimental music festival but I donm;t know much about it.

just trying to outright book a show with a venue is pretty difficult. you'd be better off finding out who is organizing and promoting the experimental music festival (or similar events) and try to get in good with them for future gigs.
