I have to say, I'm quite amazed by these things. I remember seeing some noise band holding a Spell And Speak upto a microphone a few years ago, but I never imagined these things would actually become an instrument.
I have done a bit of messing around with electronics; wiring distortion pedals into Yamaha Portasounds, building echo units out of a dictaphone and a walkman... but this is really something else.
I'm going to have to buy one of these when I have the money.

yeah, i agree totally. i didn't know any of this stuff was possible until just recently! i love the idea of cracking open some old peice of hardware that's about as old as i am, and making it something completley different. i can't wait to get started on my own projects...
this site has been very helpful too. both the content of the main site and these forums. thanks to all who participate!

I know this thread is old but yeah, I have to say, this is my main source of info. now... Everyone seems nice and helpful and I've gotten lots of great tips/info... I love this little community here! Thanks, everyone.
