before I try to do this, do any of you think wiring the eraser head to one end of a SPDT switch and the wires from the circuitboard to the other end, could I turn the eraser head on/off withouth covering or removing it? (for layering recordings/not layering recordings when desired) I think it may effect something seeing as how I'd be making a single connection from two wires... but I don't know... I don't want to do it and find out it won't work afterwards... thanks for any suggestions...

What about just an SPST?

I'm not sure what the difference between those two are.

SPST can be stuck in the middle of a circuit to turn it on and off. It only has two connections.

hmm.. idk. I need to save up some money to buy new parts... I'll probably buy one of each type and test them out or something... I have almost got a full rig of Circuit Bent stuff and I hope to get like.. 4 more tape recorders. Thanks for the suggestion!
